Issue: Cash Drawer Not Opening for Transactions, etc

If your cash drawer is not opening for any reason, one problem may be that a setting located within AmberPOS needs to be changed. Your com port setting must be specified as 0 (zero). This issue only applies to cash drawers that use the Control Signal-Printer method (see: Control Signal-Printer setup guide). The serial and USB cash drawer methods require com ports, but the Control Signal-Printer method does not, therefore the com port must be set to 0.

To access this setting:

1. Login to AmberPOS and access the Setup menu.

 

2. Overview of Printers and Local Settings tab:

      Step 1: Select the Printers and Local Settings tab.

      Step 2: Select 0 as your com port.

      Step 3: Select Save to finalize your changes.

**Note** Also make sure the correct receipt type is already selected as outlined in section 4 in the image above or else the issue will persist.
