This article will help you to set barcode scanning values for your Dolphin 6500. It will show you the default values as well as turning on/off the check and lead digits for UPCs.

1. To begin setting the barcode values for the Dolphin 6100/6500, power up the machine screen.
2. Your screen will load and show Windows CE 5.0 with AmberPOS count shown on the desktop.
To access the settings menu:
1. Click the scanwedge icon in the taskbar. If this icon is not visible for you, then you must first enable scanwedge.
2. Select Settings.
3. In the new window select Symbologies.
Settings for Code 128:
Find the code in the list:
The default code 128 settings are: 1,0,80,0,0,0,0,0,0
Settings for Code 39:
Find the code in the list:
The default code 39 settings are: 1,0,0,0,0,0,0,48,0
Settings for UPC-A:
Find the code in the list:
The default UPC-A settings are: 1,1,1,0,0,0,1,0,0
Settings for UPC-E0:
Find the code in the list:
The default code for UPC-E0 is: 0,1,1,0,0,0,0,1,0.
To enable check and system digits (the outside numbers) for UPCs, change 2nd and 3rd values in either UPC-A or UPC-E0 to 0. For example: 0,1,1,0,0,0,0,1,0 would become - 1,1,1,0,0,0,0,1,0 . This translates a UPC "234657" to show as "12345678".
Settings for UPC-E1:
Find the code in the list:
The default code for UPC-E1 is: 0,1,1,0,0,0,0,1,0.
To enable check and system digits (the outside numbers) for UPCs, change 2nd and 3rd values in either UPC-A or UPC-E0 to 0. For example: 0,1,1,0,0,0,0,1,0 would become - 1,1,1,0,0,0,0,1,0 . This translates a UPC "234657" to show as "12345678".
