Manually Uploading Sku List and Loading List from File

Uploading Sku List File to Scanner

Before you begin counting inventory with a handheld scanner, you must first upload your SKU list in order for the machine to recognize the SKUs you are scanning and associate the numbers with your product descriptions.

If you cannot upload the sku list to the scanner you can manually transfer the skulist.txt file to the scanner device.  Click on the 20.PNG button to generate the needed file in the sub folder "Count" in the AmberPOS software folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Pacific Amber\AmberPOS\Count).

Using the file explorer navigate to the file location and copy the skulist.txt file

Connect the scanner to the computer and select it from your computer's file explorer.  Open the Internal storage on the scanner.

Paste the skulist.txt into the Internal storage.

If you are having difficulty populating the sku list from the scanner you can alternatively copy the file onto your computer and upload it from there.  Connect the scanner to the computer and select it from your computer's file explorer.  Open the Internal storage on the scanner.

1. Select the file "invent.txt" and copy this to a location on your computer.

To upload your Inventory List from any inventory count terminal scanner, first Login to AmberPOS and access the inventory menu.

2. Loading List From Scanner

Step 1: Select the inventory_count_tab.PNG tab near the top of the screen.

Step 2: Ensure that the input_inventory_count_tab.png tab is selected below the inventory count tab.

       Optional Steps:

**If you have not already done so, create a Batch with the ID of your choice. (see: Creating Batches)**

**Ensure that your Terminal Scanner is plugged into your computer and ActiveSync is enabled**

Step 3: Select  scanner_file_button.png to import your inventory list into AmberPOS.

3. Select LoadListFromFile2.png from the window that appears.

4. Select the invent.txt file from where you saved it or from your scanner's internal storage.

5. If successful, your SKU(s) should appear like in the image below:

6. Before you can begin scanning for another batch, you must first Clear Scan List From Scanner in order to prevent the batches from overlapping in your scanner during the next scanning session. Make sure your Scan List is uploaded to your computer first, or else your data will be permanently deleted.
After clearing the scan list you will have to turn AmberCount off and on again before you can resume scanning items.

You can clear your Scan List by heading to your scanner's internal storage and deleting the invent.txt file
